The Victorian Brumby Association has received advice that up to 5000 horses living at remote Lake Gregory, West Australia are to be rounded up, crammed into trucks and transported over 3000 kilometres across Central Australia to an abattoir in South Australia. This includes mares in foal. There they will be slaughtered and the meat sent overseas for human consumption.
